This means that any 2018 entry courses with vacancies now, will be displayed in the search tool, and available in Clearing.
If you do not want a course to be available to applicants during Clearing, you need to set the vacancy status to ‘No vacancies’, and the application status to ‘Closed’.
Take a look at our step-by-step guide for more information on how to do this.
Do you have courses you want available in Clearing, but not published?
If a course only has a small number of vacancies and would receive a high number of applications if it was published in Clearing, we advise you to set it to ‘Not published’.
To set a course to 'Not published':
- Find and click on the course in 'Course management'.
- Scroll down to the 'Course options' section.
- In the ‘Bulk actions’ menu, select ‘Publication status’, then ‘Go’.
- Select ‘Not published’ for each course option.
- Click ‘Save’.
If an applicant wants to refer themselves to a course that isn't published, but has vacancies:
- They must be eligible to use Clearing, and have spoken to the provider they wish to apply to.
- Once they have done this, they need to sign in to Track, select the provider, and choose ‘Other’ from the course drop-down menu.
- They then manually enter the application code in capital letters.
