Register for free admissions seminar – Tuesday 8 March

Ofqual is holding a free seminar on Tuesday 8 March in London, looking at what the GCSE and A level reforms mean for admissions staff at universities.

Posted Thu 11 February 2016
  • What does the new GCSE grading of 9 to 1 mean in practice?
  • How do they compare to existing Grades A* - G and what are the considerations for operating with a ‘mixed economy’ of current and reformed GCSEs between 2017 and 2020?
  • How have A levels changed; what are the differences in content and how has assessment been amended?
  • How do these changes compare with reforms in Wales and Northern Ireland?

This seminar will allow those working in higher education admissions to hear from the qualifications regulator and speakers from HE providers on the changes and the potential implications for admissions to higher education. The seminar has been designed by Ofqual, with support from UCAS, UUK and SPA, to allow for group discussions and provide the opportunity to network with colleagues from other universities and colleges.
