Record of Prior Acceptance

Before completing a Record of Prior Acceptance (RPA), please check web-link to find out if the applicant has already applied.

Before completing a Record of Prior Acceptance (RPA), please check web-link to find out if the applicant has already applied. Enter the applicant’s surname and make sure the ‘All’ option is selected, rather than ‘This institution’, before running the search.

  • If the applicant already has a live application and is holding an offer they no longer want: they need to contact the provider to ask to be entered into Clearing. They can then apply to you through Clearing on the existing application.
  • If the applicant is holding an offer on an existing RPA: they need to contact the provider to discuss cancelling the record before another application can be made.

It’s your responsibility to check if the applicant already has a live UCAS application. If an RPA is submitted for an applicant who’s already live in the system it will be cancelled.
