Re-marks
Our advice to applicants who contact us regarding re-marks will be to immediately get in touch with providers where they are holding offers, to explain their situation. Please take these circumstances into consideration when making Confirmation decisions.
- If, as a result of a re-mark by an awarding body, an applicant who has previously been rejected meets the conditions of an offer before 31 August, the offer should ideally be accepted at Confirmation. We will remove the original Confirmation reject to put the choice back to the CF or CI status. If an acceptance is not possible, please consider the applicant for a changed course or deferred start. We appreciate it may not be possible to guarantee that offers remain open after 31 August for such applicants. Please clearly communicate with the applicant if you are likely to be able to honour the place for 2015, and the possible alternatives if they meet the conditions of the offer as a result of the re-mark.
- After 31 August, you can decide whether to accept an applicant as a result of a re-mark.
Appeals
In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, appeals can only be made by the applicant's exam centre after they have had a reply to their re-mark request.
- If, as a result of an appeal, an applicant who has previously been rejected meets the conditions of an offer before 31 August, they should be considered for a successful re-mark, as above.
