Publishing data on unconditional offer-making

We’ve been approached by the media and a number of stakeholders, asking for provider-level data on the number of unconditional offers made to applicants.

This information is within the scope of UCAS’ designation under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, and given the high level of public interest, we believe we have a public duty to publish this.

Specific proposals will be discussed by the UCAS Board in September, with a recommendation to publish the data this winter, in accordance with our annual end of cycle publication. We’ll engage with the Undergraduate Advisory Group, and a number of universities and colleges, to determine exactly what information should be published, and how it should be presented and contextualised. In particular, we want to ensure the report explains the different ways in which unconditional offers can be made, includes examples of good practice, and gives every provider the opportunity to contextualise its own data.

More information will be available in October, after the UCAS Board meeting. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact your relationship manager.
