Publication of 2016 daily Clearing analysis reports

On SQA results day, we published a detailed set of analysis, including reports specific to applicants domiciled in Scotland.

Posted Thu 11 August 2016

Versions of these reports, covering their own placed applicants, were also made available to providers in Scotland.

From Thursday 18 August until Friday 2 September, we’ll be publishing a full set of daily Clearing analysis reports each working day, giving a comprehensive national picture about Clearing.

These reports cover:

  • placed applicants, including by entry route, age, and subject
  • placed applicants by UK country and by English region, with 18 year old entry rates that account for population changes
  • placed 18 year old applicants, for UK and by UK country, based on POLAR3 quintile, with population-based entry rates
  • placed 18 year old applicants from Scotland based on SIMD quintile, with population-based entry rates
  • unplaced applicant report – available to universities and colleges only

All reports contain data for the equivalent point relative to A level results day in the cycle, back to 2012, for comparison.

We will also be giving you access to key reports about your university or college each week, from A level results day until 15 September, and a recruitment report covering acceptances by academic entry year, rather than cycle.

As they contain sensitive and unrounded data, this set of reports will be transferred via MOVEit (secure file transfer service), to which your UCAS Correspondent has access. You can find instructions on how to download them in the

. Each set of reports is contained in a separate zip folder, which can be identified by ‘DCA2016_’ at the start of the folder name.
