Public reporting of 2015 cycle application statistics – September

Yesterday (Thursday 1 October 2015) we published the final set of application statistics for the 2015 UCAS Teacher Training cycle.

The reference point for these statistics is Monday 21 September 2015.

The statistics were published on the UCAS Teacher Training statistical releases page in the corporate section of our website.

The reports follow a similar format to last year’s public statistical reporting:

Key findings

Applicants and acceptances

Out of a total of 47,200 current applicants, there have been 29,100 firmly placed (either CF or UF) into teacher training roles through UCAS Teacher Training. Of these, 24,600 have been confirmed by their provider and are therefore unconditionally placed. The acceptance rate is currently 51%, although 62% of applicants are currently firmly placed (either CF/UF).

Applications and acceptances to training providers in England

In the current cycle, we have 128,500 applications to English providers, a reduction in applications of 7% from the same point in 2014. In contrast to this, we have seen an increase in the number of applicants holding offers. There are currently 28,100 applicants holding either conditional or unconditional firm (CF/UF) offers with English providers, which is an increase of nearly 3% on last cycle’s figures.

The technical notes at the end of each report explain the releases in further detail. The reports are subject to final minor amendments.
