Precision marketing data service

After a successful trial last year, we’re extending the precision marketing data service (PMDS) trial this year – as an additional service for Clearing.

Posted Wed 6 April 2016

Once again, you’ll have the option to request the details of unplaced applicants who are ‘similar’ to those you or a selected provider have previously accepted to a subject group/line. This enables you to proactively contact suitable applicants from 18 August (A level results day), rather than waiting for them to contact you.

Based on the feedback we received after last year’s trial, we have included a few updates to this year's service, including:

  • the option to include qualification type and main scheme choices in the similarity matching
  • the ability to exclude applicants who live far away
  • the ability to filter by applicants who have previously applied to you. This gives you the option of excluding those who have previously declined your offer or applicants you've rejected

The service will be promoted to advisers in the next few days, and applicants will be invited to sign up to the ‘direct contact service’ later this month.

Your UCAS Media account manager will be in touch shortly, but please email ucasmediaeducationteam@ucas.ac.uk if you wish to express an interest in the service. For more information, you can also refer to the FAQs.

Next week, we’ll be launching our service for applicants, which enables them to confirm their student status by providing UCAS-generated codes to banks, insurers, and other organisations offering student products and services.
