The Department for Education (DfE) has now released the Government’s vision for technical education, based on the work of Lord Sainsbury’s independent panel.

The skills plan proposes a new system, where students who have finished their GCSEs will be able to choose from up to 15 technical pathways.

Other recommendations include a new licensing approach for technical education qualifications at Level 2 and 3, with awarding organisations bidding to offer these qualifications for a fixed period.
