Post-16 qualifications review

The Government has recently opened its review of post-16 Level 3 and below qualifications in England (excluding GCSEs, A levels, and T Levels).

The review aims to streamline the number of qualifications available and to ensure, as T Levels develop, that only qualifications that serve a clear and distinct purpose are publicly funded. It is anticipated, as a result of the review, there will be far fewer qualifications at these levels approved for funding post-16 than at present (circa 12,000 qualifications).

The first stage is a key opportunity for providers to input in to the future qualifications landscape, and the use of these qualifications for progression to HE. You can read the full consultation here – it  is open until 10 June 2019:
