Our postgraduate beta search is now available

Our postgraduate beta search tool is now available on ucas.com for your feedback.

Posted Wed 16 September 2015

Our postgraduate beta search tool is now available on ucas.com. This is a test version of the service we’ve developed using feedback from providers, applicants, groups and forums. This beta won’t replace our existing postgraduate search tool until we’re confident feedback proves we’ll be meeting our customers’ needs and providing a good user experience.

On every page there’s a message explaining this is only a beta service, and our main postgraduate search tool should still be used when searching for courses. There is also a ‘Give us your feedback’ button on each page which links to a data capture form for users to give us their feedback and suggestions. If you have feedback on the search tool, please use this form to ensure it is reviewed. In addition, we’ll be using software to track users’ mouse movements and how they interact with the tool. This will give us an insight into how the tool is used, and we’ll review this along with feedback from the form.

Please note, as this is a beta search, not a fully functioning site, we’ll continue to deploy updates and new features in the coming weeks.

Our webinars
Earlier today we hosted a webinar with providers to give an overview of the current features in the search tool. Thank you to the providers who attended. If you missed the session, you can watch a watch a playback here.

We’ll continue to use webinars to source regular feedback from users as we develop all our postgraduate services. Therefore, whilst you should use the feedback form in the search tool to give specific feedback on this, we also encourage you to attend our webinars as they will provide insight into how we’re developing all our services.

Although we’re starting with the development of UCAS Postgraduate, we intend to use the features we’re making as the foundation for the development of our other schemes. Therefore, please add these webinar dates to your diary and encourage relevant colleagues to keep the time free:

  • Wednesday 30 September, 11:00 – 12:00
  • Wednesday 14 October, 11:00 – 12:00
  • Wednesday 28 October, 11:00 – 12:00

We’ll send you details on how to register for these sessions nearer the time.
