In case you missed last week’s message, here’s a reminder of what’s new:
- A new-look homepage – we’ve carried out extensive analysis of how people use ucas.com, and given it a new look and feel, bringing the most visited information to the top, and making it more student-focused. Take a look at the new ucas.com.
- Improved navigation – on every content page, there will be a ‘breadcrumb trail’ for better navigation.
- Revised menus – rather than left-hand menus, these will be at the top of each page.
- Introducing quick links – at the top of key pages, there will be quick links signposting to popular content. At the bottom of each student-facing page, there will also be ‘You might like to read’ links to related content.
What do you need to know?
How to access ucas.com/providers – to avoid students accidentally clicking providers’ content, we’re removing the ‘Providers’ tab from the top of the website. There are a number of ways you can quickly access this content:
- Go directly to ucas.com/providers – you can bookmark this page for ease.
- Click ‘Providers’ from the footer of any page, and you’ll be taken straight there.
- From the homepage, scroll down and click the ‘Providers’ box.
View screenshots of the providers’ section for more information.
Improved sign in process – once you sign in to the providers’ section, we’ll use cookies to keep you signed in. You’ll only have to re-enter your details when you try to make a change or update – for example, updating open days, or adding new users to ucas.com. When signing in to ucas.com/providers for the first time, we advise pressing Ctrl + F5 to refresh the page, and ensure you're viewing the latest version. If you don't have access, find out how to register.
How to add new users – if you’re responsible for adding new users (this is usually your web-link administrator), you’ll need to click the ‘Site management’ link at the top of the ucas.com/providers page. All other functionality here is the same.
What’s next?
We’re working in an agile way, and will continue to improve the site, to make it more user-focused, and enhance our customers’ journeys. We’ll keep you posted!
In the meantime, if you have any comments, please share them with us using the ‘Your feedback’ button on the bottom right of any page. We’ll consider all feedback when making future updates.
There is also a ‘Was this page helpful?’ button on every page, so you can provide one-click feedback on a specific page if it’s not helpful. If you did find it helpful, the page will get added to your signed in dashboard.
