Office for Students' data request

The Office for Students (OfS) has asked us to supply data about English higher education providers from the 2018 admissions cycle, to help it fulfil its statutory responsibilities to assess risks at sector-level, and for particular providers, or groups of providers.

Posted Wed 24 October 2018

The information requested by the OfS is:

  • accepted applicants from the 2018 application cycle, for entry in 2018 or 2019
  • whether the acceptance is ‘immediate’ or ‘deferred’ from an earlier UCAS cycle
  • whether the acceptance is to a course that is approximated as being either eligible for an NHS healthcare bursary, or is a programme of Initial Teacher Training leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), and therefore not fundable by the OfS
  • whether UK-domiciled 18 year old acceptances have A level attainment at ABB+, as reported through UCAS’ Awarding Body Linkage

We’ll be providing this data to the OfS on Monday 29 October. If you do not wish for your provider’s data to be supplied, please email communications@ucas.ac.uk by 16:00 on Friday 26 October. We will then remove your provider from the data file.
