ODBCFE2 outage and upcoming systems maintenance

ODBCFE2 maintenance

Our third party supplier will be carrying infrastructure maintenance on the ODBCFE2 instance of the odbc-link service tomorrow 25 August and 1 September 2015 between 00:30 – 01:30. During this time the ODBCFE2 instance of the odbc-link service will be unavailable.

The ODBCFE2 instance is only used by approximately 23 providers. If you are not connected to this instance your service will be unaffected by this maintenance.

Please contact your Technical Relationship Manager if you have any concerns or questions about which odbc-link instance you are connected to.

We apologise for the short notice of this planned maintenance.
 

Future scheduled maintenance activity

As part of the ongoing improvements to our systems and services, we will be carrying out maintenance activities over the next few weeks. We will be deploying systems and security patching during September, and in October we will be replacing our firewalls.

Maintenance is planned for the following times:

  • 18:00 on Friday 11 September until 23:59 on Sunday 13 September
  • 18:00 on Friday 18 September until 23:59 on Sunday 20 September
  • 08:00 on Saturday 3 October until 23:59 on Sunday 4 October

Please note these dates are subject to change, but we will provide updates as we approach the proposed times.
 

Security patching activity: 11 – 13 and 18 – 20 September

During these periods, the following systems will be unavailable:

  • web-link
  • odbc-link
  • xml-link
  • Course Collect

Please note, during the maintenance activity you will be unable to make real-time updates to your applicant and institution data, send and receive updates from us, or manage your course information. 


Impact on applicants

11 – 13 September:

  • UCAS Undergraduate search, Apply, and Track systems will be unavailable.

18 – 20 September:

  • UCAS Undergraduate search and Track systems will be unavailable.

Replacement firewall activity: 3 – 4 October

During this planned maintenance period, you will be unable to access your institution data in web-link and will have no access to the Application and Decision Tracker.
