If you are an odbc-link user, and your network infrastructure uses IP addresses to allow traffic from the service into your student management system, you need to add the following additional ranges:
- 52.16.0.0/15 (54.16.0.0 - 54.17.255.255) – New
- 54.72.0.0/15 (54.72.0.0 - 54.73.255.255) – New
- 54.74.0.0/15 (54.74.0.0 - 54.75.255.255) – New
- 54.76.0.0/15 (54.76.0.0 - 54.77.255.255) – New
- 54.78.0.0/16 (54.78.0.0 - 54.78.255.255) – New
- 54.154.0.0/16 (54.154.0.0 - 54.154.255.255) – New
- 54.155.0.0/16 (54.155.0.0 - 54.155.255.255) – New
- 54.170.0.0/15 (54.170.0.0 - 54.171.255.255) – New
- 54.194.0.0/15 (54.194.0.0 - 54.195.255.255) – New
- 185.48.120.0/22 (185.48.120.0 - 185.48.123.255) – New
This range has been expanded as a result of our ongoing work to ensure capacity and business continuity capabilities. The additional ranges may also be used by any new services we introduce, such as the Confirmation and Clearing optimised test environment.
You can make the changes now, as it will have no impact on your current service and ensures resilience. Not adding the additional ranges may mean that, in the event of an odbc server failover, your firewall will prevent you from accessing the odbc-link instances available to providers.
We’re continuing to work with Amazon on the changes required to our architecture to remove the need to add these ranges to your firewall. However, this is unlikely to happen prior to Confirmation and Clearing 2015, and we will inform you when these changes are ready for deployment.
We’re sharing this information with your technical team, but please forward this information to anyone else in your organisation who needs to know.
