New look virtual events

It was highlighted in our provider satisfaction survey that our virtual events offering was an area we needed to improve on.

We’ve listened to feedback from students, advisers, providers and worked with our HELOA (Higher Education Liaison Officers Association) events group to gather intel on the current global landscape, including youth trends and virtual event benchmarks to develop our new virtual event experience, UCAS Discovery.

We’re bringing our regional UCAS events to students a little differently this year, Introducing UCAS/Discovery Days.

An exciting new online experience to help your students explore universities, apprenticeships, and all kinds of possibilities.

We are providing teachers and advisers with a toolkit to easily run the event with activity sheets and prompts to help students get the most out of the event - in class or at home.

Helping students make life-changing decisions with confidence

We recognise that making life-changing decisions are difficult at the best of times and are delighted to announce Dr Alex George, online campaigner and recently appointed government Youth Mental Health Ambassador, is partnering with UCAS across our series of UCAS Discovery events. Dr Alex George will be taking part in live sessions, inspiring students with his story, acknowledging the challenges and pressures they may be experiencing during these difficult times, and sharing his expertise with your year 12s as they begin to make big decisions about life after school.

Regional Discovery Days will be taking place virtually on the following dates and students can register to attend at ucas.com/discoverydays.

Our face-to-face events will return as and when Covid restrictions are lifted, but no earlier than June.

Improving insight and ROI for events customers

Within the providers section on UCAS.com we have developed a Virtual Events PowerBI report which allows exhibitors to view their overall performance for each of the events they attended, as well as insight into how they compare to other exhibitors. Exhibitors also have access to their own stats via the virtual events platform and the dashboard consolidates these and provides some benchmarks. The first dashboard was released in December 2020, showing the autumn series of virtual events, and events from March 2021 onward will be added in over the coming weeks.
