This is an updated version of the table, displaying new Tariff points for all qualifications currently included in the awarding body linkage (ABL) process. This release builds on the test environment release that took place in November 2015. We will continue to update this table annually as part of yearly ABL preparations.
Access to HE Diploma
A video on how the new Tariff works for the Access to HE Diploma, targeted at mature learners, is now available on the providers’ new Tariff web page. This is also available to all other audiences on ucas.com. The video was produced to detail how the new Tariff works for the Access to HE Diploma, due to its slightly complex structure.
We worked with HESA, QAA, and the New Tariff Planners Advisory Group to develop a proposal for processing Access to HE Diploma results, in a way that supports providers with their HESA data returns. Because the new Tariff points for Access to HE Diplomas work on the basis of total number of D, M and P units, the proposal is that access validating agencies (AVAs) will use the overarching grade field in the results file to provide this information. This will be exemplified in the updated planners’ factsheet, to be made available in October. AVAs have been contacted to confirm their support for this proposal.
The proposal will be discussed in a joint HESA/UCAS webinar in November, aimed primarily at planners, although admissions colleagues are also welcome to participate. A future bulletin will provide a link to the updated planners’ factsheet, and confirm the date of the November webinar. Once these are available we would be very grateful if you could encourage your planning colleagues to participate. The webinar will be relevant to Tariff and non-Tariff using providers.
Other developments
New Tariff material on ucas.com is being updated to ensure it reflects the correct position. Updates will be made clear on the new Tariff web page, and highlighted in a forthcoming bulletin message.
If you are a Tariff using provider, please encourage learner-facing teams to use resources such as the technical FAQs and quiz, to help them prepare for questions from learners, advisers and parents. The new Tariff calculator is proving to be a very popular resource – if you haven’t already, please consider embedding the API on your own website.
