The NCTL has published its recruitment methodology for 2017/18

The NCTL has communicated with all training providers individually to confirm the status of all your training programme requests.

Posted Thu 29 September 2016

Today, the NCTL has published its recruitment methodology for 2017/18. As outlined in our email on 22 September, there are now some actions to take in the UCAS Teacher Training systems.

  1. Please set all available training programmes to ‘Running’ – step-by-step instructions are included further down this email.

We are planning on opening the UCAS Teacher Training search tool on 11 October. In order to ensure potential applicants have the widest range of programmes to research, we are asking all training providers to complete this action as soon as possible. We advise you to set your programmes to ‘Running’ before midday on Monday 3 October. This will allow us time to complete any additional quality checking, and will guarantee your training programmes are available to applicants when the search tool opens. Training programmes set to running after this time will be checked and published in the order they are received.

    Please note:
    - You should only set programmes to running where you have received approval to recruit from the NCTL (where applicable). Please do not set programmes to running unless you are certain you will be recruiting to them.
    - You do not need to have completed your Entry Profile information to do this – you can continue to complete and update your Entry Profiles after this date.
    - If you are a new training provider and you have not yet settled your joining fee invoice, please be aware that your training programmes will not appear on the search tool while your invoice is outstanding. Please contact our finance team if you have any queries: receivables@ucas.ac.uk.

  2. To ensure potential applicants have all the information they need about your training programmes, please complete your Entry Profiles. You do not need to have completed this by 3 October, but any additional information you can provide about your training programmes will support applicants researching programmes. For further information about completing and updating your Entry Profiles please see our Entry Profiles guide. You can also check out our video guide. For reference, you can access your Entry Profiles here.
