Rolling over your 2018 courses to 2019, and adding HECoS codes
If you haven’t already done so, make sure you’re rolling over your 2018 courses to 2019 – bulk functionality is available in the collection tool to facilitate this, and we've developed FAQs to support you.
When updating your 2019 courses, make sure course titles do not include outcome qualifications. The outcome qualification for a course should be added via the ‘Add outcome qualification’ section in the collection tool. Students are then able to filter by these qualifications in the search tool.
As a reminder, HECoS codes are mandatory for 2019 undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including those with variable start dates. If your 2019 courses have not been assigned HECoS codes, you will not be able to publish them when the search tool goes live, on Tuesday 8 May. Any 2019 courses you want to publish in the search tool after this time must have a HECoS code assigned to them.
If you haven’t already, please take this opportunity to test how to assign HECoS codes to your 2019 courses in our test, training, and development environment. HESA has developed an implementation guide to help you do this.
