This week's webinar

In this week’s webinar, we discussed requirements for the new UCAS Undergraduate and UCAS Conservatoires application management service. Watch a playback.

Let us know what you think of our new-look ucas.com

We hope you’ve had chance to check out our new-look ucas.com – here’s a reminder of the improvements we’ve made.

While we’ve recently made a number of changes, we’re working in an agile way, and will continue to improve the site to enhance your experience with us. As part of this, we’re currently trialling some new features:

  • Did you know you can add quick links to your dashboard?
In the signed in section of ucas.com/providers, if there are pages you regularly use, or find helpful and want to quickly access in the future, you can save them to your dashboard. At the bottom of every page, you’ll be asked if you found that page useful – if you did and want to save that particular page to your dashboard, all you need to do is click the ‘Yes’ option.
  • Keep an eye out for our new provider timeline – coming soon!
Next week, we’re hoping to introduce a new UCAS provider timeline feature to ucas.com/providers. This is to help you keep up-to-date with all the important key dates and deadlines. Take a look at a preview of the timeline.

If you find these features useful, please let us know using the feedback button in the bottom right corner of any page. The development of these features is reliant on your feedback, so whether it’s good or bad, we want to hear it!

  • The criminal convictions option in course management for UCAS Postgraduate courses will be updated, so the question can be turned on or off, instead of asking for a basic or enhanced question.
  • Vacancy and application status will be linked, so when a course has all its vacancies set to ‘Full’, the application status is automatically set to ‘Closed’, and vice versa.
  • A UCAS Conservatoires lockdown from 14 June will prevent changes being made to specialism and audition information, and will restrict new courses and options being created for 2018/19 and 2019/20.

Search tool:

  • The search tool is being updated to display Clearing contact details for all courses with vacancies during the Clearing period (where Clearing contacts are held in the collection tool).
  • The filter ‘What type of degree do you want to study?’ will be removed from the results page in the search tool, due to duplication with the search bar at the top of the page.
  • The message displayed to students viewing Clearing vacancies is being updated to default to ‘Scotland’ over the SQA results and Clearing period.
  • A new design is being implemented for the search and user management tools, bringing them in line with the new design of the UCAS website.
  • A new filter will be present in the search tool that will allow users to find postgraduate courses applied to through UCAS.
