Action required: Four tips for creating your 2019 courses
If you haven’t already done so, make sure you’re rolling over your 2018 courses to 2019 – here are our top four tips to help with the process:
- Start early – although 2019 courses won’t be in the search tool until May, the earlier you start, the more time you’ve got to optimise your course content.
- Use bulk functionality – similar to rollover, this allows you to copy 2018 courses to 2019. If you’ve not used this before, have a look at our training webinar.
- Take out qualifications from course titles – these should be added via the ‘Add outcome qualification’ section in the collection tool. Students can then filter by these qualifications in the search tool.
- Assign HECoS codes – these are mandatory for 2019, so don’t leave it until the last minute. If you’re not fully familiar with HECoS codes, there’s lots of information on ucas.com to help you get started, from FAQs to a training webinar.
Reminder: Use our test and training environments to test the integration of our products
The test and training environments have been developed to allow you to test our new services, and make sure they will integrate with your systems. The services you can test include the:
- search tool
- collection tool
- application management service (the latest UCAS Postgraduate version)
It only takes a few minutes to register to use the environment. To help you get started once you’ve registered, we’ve developed four introductory videos:
- Introduction to the test and training environments
- Test and training environments: Getting started
- Test and training environments: Sending a test application
- Test and training environments: Recording decisions on applications
