Keeping up-to-date with our developments

We’ll be giving an update on our collection and search tools in our next webinar.

Posted Wed 20 December 2017

This is being held from 11:00 – 12:00 on Wednesday 10 January — register now. During the webinar, we'll be demonstrating:

  • the new statistics page in the collection tool
  • how to bulk copy UCAS Undergraduate and UCAS Conservatoires courses in the collection tool
  • the latest search developments

We’ll also be discussing future enhancements.

New releases

The following releases will be available to test in our test, training, and development environment this week.

Collection tool

  • Ability to bulk copy UCAS Undergraduate and UCAS Conservatoires courses to a new intake, replacing UCAS’ rollover process, including the ability to update specific start dates for the next year.

Search tool

  • Update to the count on the results page to take courses, not course options, into account. This is in response to feedback about the course count being too overwhelming.
  • Autosuggest has been reordered to show course title, provider, and subject. This is based on feedback regarding the importance of each search term to the end user.

Releases planned for the New Year

  • Further iterations to the statistics page in the collection tool, including adding UCAS Undergraduate and UCAS Conservatoires course figures.
  • Ability to filter courses by vacancy status in the search tool, allowing students to see courses with vacancies.
  • Ability to filter courses by qualification type, such as foundation degree, honours degree, or postgraduate degree.
  • The ability to set ‘no vacancies’ against a course once its equal consideration deadline has passed.

Open days

Reminder: Changes to how you upload your open days to ucas.com

As part of the work to centralise our services, we have moved the functionality for managing your open days from the Data Collection System (DCS) to ucas.com.

We’ve made a few updates to the ucas.com screens you see as an admin – the details are included in our guide on the How to upload your open days to ucas.com page.

Any provider that already has an account can sign in through the UCAS single sign on system to update their open days. Open days will now be displayed on ucas.com within 15 minutes (previously once a week). We hope this will help us to better market your open days to students.
