As part of our annual review of fees and charges, the UCAS Board has approved an increase to the capitation fee and minimum fee payable by providers:

  • An increase of £2 to the capitation fee, taking it from £18 to £20
  • An increase to the minimum fee, from £1,000 to £2,000

These changes have been implemented as the undergraduate admissions service is now running at an annual deficit of £2.8m. We are obliged to ensure there are sufficient levels of investment in our business and, whilst we understand the financial strains that universities and colleges are under, the capitation fee has been increased only once since 1995.

Over recent years, application fees have seen above-inflation increases and will therefore remain unchanged.

If you have any queries about these changes, please refer to our
