Applicants are telling us that you are asking them to make replies early, even when they have other decisions outstanding on their applications. Although we understand this can be frustrating if you are able to make an offer to an applicant quickly, please remember that the applicant is within their rights to wait for all their decisions before choosing which offer they want to accept.
Every training provider has up to 40 working days to make their decisions and it is important to remember that not all training providers can make their decisions early. Training providers may have large volumes of applications and scheduling of interviews will inevitably cause them to use the full 40 working days.
The UCAS Teacher Training application allows applicants to have the freedom to choose up to three training providers and then wait for all decisions to be made. It is important for the applicant to be able to attend all of their interviews to enable them to make an informed choice about the best training programme for them.
Please allow applicants to make their replies in line with your 40 working day decision period and their 10 working day reply period.
There is more guidance about making decisions in our Guide to decision and offer making for UCAS Teacher Training providers.
