The Higher Education Data and Information Improvement Programme (HEDIIP) is publishing a blueprint for the future HE information landscape on 21 May.
This establishes a vision for an HE data landscape that has effective governance and leadership, promotes standards, rationalises data flows and enables improved data capability. This is likely to be of interest to HE planners and those involved in data management and reporting as well as the admissions community.
The report will be published on the HEDIIP website.
UCAS has been involved in the New Landscape Project and welcomes the publication of the report.
As a major collector, aggregator and supplier of data and analysis about progression and admissions to HE we are keen to play our part in improving the quality of data and the efficiency of its collection and exchange.
The proposed approach to the collective governance of data, the adoption of common standards, and the application of good data governance should all help to improve quality and accessibility for the benefit of higher education providers, sector bodies and ultimately students.
UCAS will be taking forward the implementation of these proposals as it redevelops its core admissions services.
