    GCSEs in Northern Ireland

    Peter Weir, the Minister of Education in Northern Ireland, has recently announced changes to the GCSE grading scale used in Northern Ireland.

    From 2019, students in Northern Ireland will be able to achieve a C* grade. This new grade will align to the new GCSE grade 5 in England. In addition, the A* grade has also been repositioned to align to the new GCSE grade 9 in England.
