Fraudulent UCAS invoice

We have been notified that a provider has received a fraudulent UCAS invoice from the email address pmds@ucas.ac.uk.

Posted Wed 30 August 2017

The email asked the recipient to access an invoice via an internet link, to address a query. UCAS issues PMDS/DCS invoices as attachments, and invoices for applicants recruited via the Extra and Clearing services will be issued in October when the cycle closes.

If you receive an email claiming to be from UCAS that you think is suspicious, please share it with your cyber/information security colleagues, and also let UCAS know via reportabuse@ucas.ac.uk.

Please do not click any links as they may contain malware, such as ransomware.

This email was issued to the provider’s finance officer, so please share this information with your finance colleagues.
