The specifications will support you in setting your admissions policies for T Levels:

What are T Levels?

T Levels are new two-year Level 3 programmes being introduced in phases from 2020. They will be the technical equivalent to A levels, combining classroom theory, practical learning, and a substantive industry placement.

T Levels are designed to support progression to skilled employment and higher technical training, including higher education in related areas. They attract UCAS Tariff points in line with three A levels.

The TQs include a broad ‘core component’ which gives the student an overview of key aspects of a sector, and an ‘occupational specialism’ which provides specialist training for a particular occupation. Students will also learn relevant maths, English, and digital skills, for example measurement techniques, estimation or producing reports for customers. The qualifications will provide exciting content for students relevant to the world of work, and includes projects and assignments based on real-life scenarios. Assessment is set and marked externally.

Education Secretary, Gavin Williamson, has confirmed that T Levels will be launched as planned this September. Given the impact of COVID-19, Minister Keegan has written to each T Level provider thanking them for their continued support for the programme.
