Errors in Confirmation

Please check before processing confirmation decisions.

If you have made a mistake, we can help but you need to act fast and it is your responsibility to take action to correct the issue, and get the relevant permissions for unpicking.

During embargo periods, decisions can be unpicked via self-serve in Web-link.  You’ll find more information in the training module on our PDP here

Outside of the embargo periods, or in cases where decisions cannot be unpicked via self-serve providers will need to follow the more manual process and contact the Customer Success Team via cst@ucas.ac.uk for support in unpicking. 

Depending on the scenario, you will need permission from the applicant and if another provider is impacted permission from them as well.

When contacting us please ensure you have the following details to hand:

  • Applicant name
  • Applicant PID
  • Has the applicant agreed? (this is not required if the error was made during embargo)
  • course code
  • Name of other provider involved and the name of the person from the provider that agreed this change (if appropriate)
  • Reason for unpicking

Please note we are unable to unpick if the applicant has used the 'Decline my place' option - the applicant will need to add you as a Clearing choice. If the applicant has added a Clearing choice, we are unable to unpick the record.
