Encrypted emails

To help us work more securely, the HEP Team has started to send encrypted emails, which may look different to other communications you receive from us.

  • If you receive an email stating you’ve been sent an encrypted message, you need to open the attachment.
  • This takes you to a web page – you can sign in if you have a Microsoft 365 Outlook account, or generate ‘a one-time passcode’ if you use another email system.
  • You’ll then receive an email giving you the passcode, which expires after 15 minutes – please do not request the passcode until you are ready to access the email
  • The passcode will only be sent to your email address, so only you can decrypt the message.

If you have any further questions, please contact the HEP Team at hep_team@ucas.ac.uk or on 0344 984 1111.
