In line with our published schedule to transfer content from our legacy guides to Qualification Information Profiles (QIPs), we have now launched our digital QIPs service.
The service includes 2016 updates to our UK benchmark and EU/international 2015 QIPs, previously published as PDFs, and additional UK and EU/international qualifications. We’ve also included high priority Level 1/2 qualifications, such as current GCSEs and reformed GCSEs, for England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
As this is the beginning of the digitisation process, the format and functionality will be developed further in the coming months. Features such as a search facility will be explored, and feedback received through the UCAS Qualifications Information Sub Group and our User Experience Team. View a mock-up page showing a future search results page, and the features that will be available.
Some of the EU/international QIPs published last year are still being updated and do not yet feature in the digital QIPs service – the 2015 versions remain accessible as PDFs. Similarly, PDF versions of our 2015 apprenticeship and Access to HE QIPs are still available. You can view them on our Qualification Information Profiles (QIPs) web page.
We will also publish Education Information Profiles (EIPs), initially only in PDF format. EIPs are for any assessed programme followed by UK students, not externally accredited to any of the regulatory frameworks in England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland. They are intended to give objective information to help providers make informed decisions about the admission of UK students.
These programmes are likely to fall into one of the following categories:
- programmes which are used in place of externally accredited qualifications
- enrichment or enhancement programmes which contain accredited qualifications
- enrichment or enhancement programmes which do not contain accredited qualifications
View EIP examples on the Qualification Information Profiles (QIPs) web page.
We continue to welcome feedback via email at qualsinfo@ucas.ac.uk.
