We have made available some upgraded front-end databases in our test environments for you to connect to, this is to enable you to test your own connections and ensure they are not impacted.
You will be able to use existing test data in the environments with the new connections, however, if you would rather use new test data, you can request it via our self-service support portal.
If you do not want to test this new connection, you can continue to use the current ones – these will not be affected by these new instances.
To test the connection, you will need to make a small change to the configuration of your own test student record system. Details can be found here in a technical briefing document.
Please note:
- XML-Link is unaffected by this upgrade – only ODBC-Link
- No production services are affected in this phase of the upgrade work – we’ll let you know when they are.
If you experience any problems during the configuration or with access to data after you have connected to the upgraded databases, please report the problem via the portal.
