We’ve noticed a recent increase in the number of programmes which have had the balance indicator field changed by providers on Course Collect. The balance indicator field on the programme details page should indicate the overall weighting of the programme, as shown below:
- single – the programme covers one subject area (e.g. mathematics)
- balanced – the programme covers two distinct subject areas equally (e.g. mathematics and French)
- triple – the programme covers three distinct subjects equally (e.g. French, mathematics and business)
- major/minor – the programme covers one subject the majority of the time (e.g. one subject for up to 75% and another subject for around 25% of the time)
- combined – the programme offers the opportunity to study a wide range of subject areas to make up the whole degree award
Please refer to the programme and courses section of the Course Collect Manual for more information.
