There are three types of contacts to update:
Clearing contact | Confidential Clearing contact | Clearing text alert contact |
---|---|---|
|
|
|
Clearing contact details: used in the search tool during August and September for courses with Clearing vacancies – applicants will use it to contact you. These details will also be used for print and online Clearing listings published by national newspapers in August and September. Only the primary contact will be published.
Confidential Clearing contact: published in the secure providers section of ucas.com, and used only by UCAS and providers to contact each other during Confirmation and Clearing. They will not be available to applicants. Your confidential Clearing contact should be an appropriate member of staff, who is able to discuss different circumstances and make decisions. You may have more than one confidential Clearing contact record, but the main contact must be marked as primary contact in Course Collect – which is indicated by a red star.
Clearing text alert contact: the primary contact’s mobile number will be used to provide text message updates in the following situations:
- critical updates
- notification that we’ve issued the main releases of SQA and A level results. This number is not displayed anywhere in the search tool or any other applicant-facing system
You can enter as many contacts as you need – they can be individual staff members or offices. At least one should be a personal contact to enable us, and staff at other providers, to contact each other. If you have any queries, please contact the Data Collection Team on 01242 544 864 or email coursesdata@ucas.ac.uk.
We will be running a test text send in July.
