Clarification on BTEC results

Following the announcement that BTEC results day will be 13 August this year, we’ve received some queries as to how that will affect the unreformed qualifications, which are usually in July.

If a student has taken an unreformed BTEC, and completed it before lockdown so grades have been awarded in the usual way, these will be available in July.

However, if a student’s unreformed BTEC was not completed before lockdown, and they are receiving a calculated grade, this will be available to you on Friday 7 August under the JCQ embargo (along with the reformed BTECs), ahead of publication on Thursday 13 August.

To help with your planning, last year 30% of BTEC results were made available in July. Given the circumstances, it’s estimated that approximately 5% will be available in July this year.
