Capturing data on criminal convictions and misconduct in university admissions: survey

Posted Wed 15 March 2023

Universities UK is running this survey to understand how universities capture data relating to applicants' criminal convictions and prior misconduct at other universities in their admission processes. This follows changes to how UCAS has captured data on criminal convictions since 2018/19, with a view to providing further support if the survey identifies a need for it.

We would be very grateful if representatives from as many universities as possible were able to complete the survey, which is intended to be short and easy to complete. Colleagues in Scottish institutions will already have received a similar survey from Universities Scotland in recent months, and UUK is working closely with Universities Scotland to ensure a coordinated approach in any next steps.

If you have any questions or further comments, please contact Sarah Bevan, Policy Manager at UUK (sarah.bevan@universitiesuk.ac.uk). The survey closes at 23:59 on Friday 31 March.
