What are the plans for the direct contact service (DCS) for 2020 entry?
We’re reviewing DCS in its entirety. The revised version will aim to give providers more control over the criteria they can expect from matched applicants, and to offer applicants more involvement as to which providers and courses they want to be contacted about. We’ll be asking for provider feedback in the new year, before any development starts.
Self-release – new destinations
- Of those applicants placed after self-releasing from a confirmed main scheme choice, most (73.3%) were accepted onto a course they had not previously applied to.
- 9.3% were placed on a course where they previously held an offer, but had declined it.
- More than half (53.6%) of those accepted after using self-release were placed at a provider they had previously applied to in the main scheme.
- A sixth (16.7%) were placed at a provider that had previously made them an offer, but they had declined in the main scheme.

Feedback
- ‘Love the new End of Cycle Reports this year, really vibrant and accessible.’
- ‘Thanks for an excellent presentation. The format was great and easy to follow!’
- ‘I think this is a very helpful format, so could we have these remote meetings more often? If UCAS can accommodate it, termly would be good.’
