All US technology companies that must comply with these export controls have the same restriction in place.
The restriction includes some countries that UCAS applications are received from. As a result, potential applicants whose IP addresses are in the following countries or regions are unable to register with UCAS and cannot complete their applications:
- Crimea Region/Sevastopol
- Cuba
- Iran
- North Korea
- Syria
- the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) / Luhansk People’s Republic (LNR)
Applicants living in these countries, but applying from another country not on the list, will not be affected – they can register and apply as normal.
While this restriction is in place, we will refer any applicants to your admissions team, to discuss alternative routes to apply for your courses such as via Record of Prior Acceptance (RPA) – you can find out more about the RPA process here. We’ll update you again if more information becomes available.
You may also wish to contact your own technology suppliers to see if any other services are affected.
