Advanced learner loans

The advanced learner loan is a government-funded loan to help students pay their tuition fees, and is available to people over the age of 19 who are studying courses at Levels 3 to 6.

Key facts

  • Applications can be made now through the Student Loans Company for courses starting from 1 August 2016.
  • Before applying for the loan, applicants must have received a Learning and Funding Information Letter from the course provider.
  • Applicants should only apply for this loan after they have been accepted onto a course.
