Posted Tue 22 August 2023

In anticipation of the delivery of data for the HESA return (Star J) we will be closing the 2023 cycle and flagging applications as ‘old’ in the HEP1 test environment on Wednesday 4 October.

Flagging application as ‘old’ will take place in the HEP 2 test environment on Thursday 12 October.

After these dates, you will no longer be able to use the HEP test environments with 2023 cycle test data – other than for Star J/X.  We will then generate Star J data in the HEP 1 test environment on Friday 6 October and in HEP2 on Friday 13 October.

If you need to do any testing with Star J data in a test environment, you will need to have sufficient placed applicants in it before the flagging takes place. If you require any placed applicants set up in the HEP1 test environment, please raise the request by 18:00 on Friday 29 September for HEP1 and Friday 6 October in HEP2 via the self-service support portal.

In a change to previous years we will generate extra statistical information (‘Star X’) data on demand rather then by default. You can request this data via the support portal. This is due to the way in which the data is provided in XML-Link. If you are using XML-Link for the import of Star X data please check with your student record system vendor to make sure it is capable of importing this data without any impact on new or historical applications.
