2022 cycle test data – including Star J/X

Posted Wed 31 August 2022

Additional information on the UCAS Data for HESA Star J transaction 2022 is available on our ‘HESA return’ page of ucas.com where you can also download the latest UCAS Data for HESA Star J transaction 2022 Specification.

In anticipation of the delivery of data for the HESA return (Star J) we will be closing the 2022 cycle and flagging applications as ‘old’ in the HEP1 test environment on Thursday 29 September.

After this date, you will no longer be able to use the HEP 1 test environment with 2022 cycle test data – other than for Star J/X.  We will then generate Star J data in the HEP 1 test environment on Friday 30 September.

If you need to do any testing with Star J data in the HEP 1 test environment, you will need to have sufficient placed applicants in it before the flagging takes place. If you require any placed applicants set up in the HEP1 test environment, please raise the request by 18:00 on Friday 23 September via the self-service support portal.

This year we will again be generating Star X data by default for all HEPs and we’ll let you know when this will take place in the HEP 1 environment should you need to test it. Should you wish to opt out of this and not have Star X data generated in the HEP 1 test environment then please let us know by contacting the Service Delivery management (Technical) team on sdtech@ucas.ac.uk.

We will provide further information for data in the HEP 2 test environment at a later date.

If you have any questions, please contact the Service Delivery Management (Technical) team.
