Posted Wed 25 November 2015

The 2016 Admissions Conference will be taking place from 21-23 March 2016 at Celtic Manor, Newport.

Request for breakout proposals
As always, we want to involve HE practitioners in the shaping and delivery of the Conference, and would like to offer you the opportunity to submit proposals for breakout sessions.

Proposals should be for a one hour breakout session, structured into one of the following formats:

  • learning – a presentation on a project or example of good practice, followed by a short question and answer session
  • discussion – exploring a particular aspect of the admissions process you feel warrants in-depth conversation. This may involve a short presentation outlining the topic area, followed by discussion and capturing any actions to take forward
  • debate – work with a colleague in the sector to develop a debate on a key admissions topic. This would involve developing a briefing paper in advance of the session, outlining two sides of a particular issue

If you would like to deliver a breakout session, please contact Alison Charles (a.charles@ucas.ac.uk) by Wednesday 9 December with a short summary of your proposal.

Request for poster presentations
This year, we are introducing a new opportunity for you to showcase the excellent work taking place at your university or college.

We are looking for poster presentations covering innovative and interesting projects in the areas of:

  • admissions
  • student recruitment
  • marketing
  • widening participation
The posters will be displayed throughout the Conference, and the Chair will award a prize for the most innovative project.

The author of the poster does not have to attend the Conference, as long as there is a representative there from the provider. We’ll give you further details in due course.
