Self-Serve Unpicks

The process will be available to all web-link users who have ‘edit’ permissions and will allow the unpicking of confirmation decisions made in error in most circumstances. If you require permission to use this feature, please speak to your Primary Correspondent who can assign this to you. 

The link to the screen where the self-serve unpick is done will appear as soon as the SQA embargo starts at 18:00 on 29 July and will end at 09:00 on 6 August. 

It will become available again as soon as the JCQ embargo starts at 14:00 on 9 August and will end at 23:59 on 14 August.

Some scenarios cannot be unpicked by this self-serve service and providers will need to follow the more manual process and contact the Customer Success Team for support in unpicking. The more manual unpicking process for the SQA embargo will run from 18:00 on 29 July until 13:00 on 5 August, and again for the JCQ embargo from 14:00 on 9 August until 13:00 on 14 August. These timings are to ensure the process can be completed before each embargo lifts.

Points to be highlighted: 

Case 3:  

  • When a Reject decision is given, the condition codes will be updated as null and self-serve unpicking cannot be done. 
  • When a CF is given a Reject decision, the Insurance choice will automatically update to Firm. We have three possibilities on the Insurance choice as below:

No Since the UF is given by the initial Insurance provider, this cannot be unpicked. 
CF/UI to REJ/UF Yes Un-picked as REJ->CF, UF->UI (as the UF is not given by the insurance choice provider, the UF is unpicked to UI). 

 

Case 4: 

  • When a Reject decision is given, the condition codes are be updated as null and self-serve unpicking cannot be done.

Cases 5 and 6: 

  • UCC decisions can be given by two options as below. 
UCC Choice State Unpick State Comments
UCC with course and/or campus change Fully unpicked The decision, the course and the campus are reverted to the original state.
UCC with course change and start date/point of entry change  Partially unpicked The decision, course and campus (if applicable) are reverted to the original state, but the start date/point of entry will not be reverted

 

Important: If a UCC decision has been given with a change of course and/or campus the unpick will revert these details back to the original and the decision back to REF. If there has also been a change of start date and/or point of entry the unpick will leave these details untouched.

Case 7: 

CLA/REJ decisions on a Clearing choice will be unpicked to REF.  

Important: If a CLA decision has been given with a change of course/campus/start date/point of entry the unpick will leave these details untouched and will only revert the decision back to REF.

Provider opt-in for pre-approved unpicks during C&C

Following the success of our pre-approved reply swap process, we’re launching a new pilot trial for providers to opt in to pre-approving unpicking of Confirmation decisions that have been made in error during C&C.
