Tomorrow (Thursday 23 October) at 10:00, we will publish the first statistical release from the 2015 undergraduate cycle, for courses with an October deadline only.
The data is available here and is provided under strict embargo until 10:00 on 23 October 2014. The media will not receive the release before it is published and please do not make any public comment until then.
Key figures for the 2015 cycle October deadline:
- The number of overall applicants to 15 October deadline courses is 56,360. This represents a fall of 1,840 (-3% from the previous cycle).
- Some 38,720 UCAS applicants from the UK have applied to at least one course with a 15 October deadline, a decline of 2,020 (-5%) from the previous cycle.
- There are falls of 5% in the number of applicants from England, 5% from Wales and 9% from Scotland. The total number of applicants from Northern Ireland is similar to last year.
- The number of international applicants has increased. There is a 2% rise in applicants from within the EU and a 1% increase from outside the EU.
This release only covers applicants selecting courses with a 15 October deadline and is a near complete measure of the demand for these courses.
We have also updated our timetable of statistical releases on our website with publication dates for the 2015 UCAS and UCAS Teacher Training cycles, plus the dates for the 2014 UCAS End of Cycle report and data.
Please let your communications team/press office know about this release and the timetable. The report is subject to final minor amendments. If you have any questions, please email communications@ac.uk.
