UHI offers opportunities for a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the field of early learning, youth and education, with a focus on children's rights. You can find more details here with links through to the course webpages.

The BA (Hons) Child and Youth Studies is an inter-disciplinary fully-online honours degree that examines influences (social, psychological, environmental, and legislative) upon children and young people and places this within a coherent social, pedagogical and policy context. The programme has been running for over 20 years and successful graduates have gone onto careers within education (primary teaching), social work, youth work, community learning and development and other related careers.
The BA (Hons) Childhood Practice fully-online honours degree offers practitioners in a wide range of childhood practice settings the opportunity to gain the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) recognised qualification to be a lead practitioner. You will have the opportunity to relate theory to real working practice and investigate, in-depth, an area of interest to you. The course is designed to meet the Scottish subject benchmark statement, the Standard for Childhood Practice.
The MA Children and Young People’s Participation and Leadership is designed for any professional who works with children, young people and their families, with a special interest in facilitating their rights and active participation. With a strong focus on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), there is an opportunity to contextualise how children’s rights, active participation and child-led decisions are integrated within your professional role, and their place as a valued and meaningful part of this process. We have a range of students from all areas of youthwork, education, social work, the Local Authority and the NHS. Within the programme we also offer two modules for continuous professional development (CPD) at level 11: Building Resilience: Understanding the Impact of ACEs and Article 12: Participation and Leadership.
