Ben Rutter

Funding Information Services Account Manager for London & East Anglia, Student Loans Company

Since joining SLC in 2008, Ben has been a part of the Funding Information Services Team and covers the London and East Anglia region.

Within the wider FIS Team Ben has the responsibility for working with colleagues across the SLC Policy, Customer Experience, Service Design and Marketing teams to facilitate the promotion and communication of IAG content and key messages relating to new and amended student funding policies and products. Significant examples include post-Brexit eligibility, HE Short Courses and currently the early stages of design and inception for the Lifelong Learning Entitlement.

In addition to his business-as-usual activities Ben also provides regular support for, and participation in a range of outreach and engagement events organised by leading sector bodies including UCAS, HELOA, NEON and Linking London as well as focused support for partner organisations working to support ‘vulnerable’ student groups including Refugee Education UK, NNECL and The Care Leaver Covenant.

Prior to working with SLC, Ben worked in HE progression and careers advice provision in the schools and Further Education sectors.
