Alison Woolley

Director of Higher Education Access, The Sixth Form College, Farnborough

Summary

Alison taught Geography in two Berkshire 11-18 schools, becoming Head of Geography and Deputy Head of Sixth Form, before moving to The Sixth Form College, Farnborough in 2005. This is one of the largest colleges in the country, with ~4000 students on roll, and specialist Personal Tutors to support and advise students on pastoral issues. Alison is Director of Higher Education Access, a role which includes responsibility for Higher Education, overseeing the UCAS process (the College submits around 1600 UCAS applications annually) and managing H.E. guidance for students, ex-students and their parents. She liaises with admissions teams at a range of universities, interviews each year for the Medical School at UCL and is a member of the ‘Adviser Advisory Group’ at UCAS, representing the Wessex Group of Sixth Form Colleges.
