Biography
Miriam has over 30 years’ experience in Higher Education. She began her university career at the now University of Sunderland in 1991 with a one week temporary contract to assist with student enrolment. One week turned into four years, working in Student Records and primarily in Admissions. In 1995 she moved to Northumbria University where she gained additional experience in examinations, quality assurance and congregations, but was primarily responsible for leading and managing the Admissions Service. In 2017 she moved to Durham University and was a member of the team who supported and enabled the centralisation of admissions. She then moved to the University of York, returning to Durham in May 2022 as Head of Admissions.
