When higher education providers sign up to use UCAS for recruiting their students they agree to a set of 'business rules and admissions principles' which set out how they can operate. This session will share those rules and principles and explore how they translate into practice, answering such questions as: how do the rules affect what offers are made, and when? How can providers compete for students within the boundaries set? Do the rules promote fairness for applicants? Delegates who attend this session will gain an understanding of the framework within which providers are working and how this affects their decision-making behaviour. through this understanding they will be helped to better guide students and address their concerns about the admissions process.
