Biography
Helena is currently Manager of the University of Aberdeen UK Student Recruitment Team, responsible for UK-wide recruitment of students to undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes. She has been the Scotland representative on the HELOA-UCAS Events Working Group since May 2019, is the HELOA Scotland representative for the UCAS Scottish Policy Group and is an active member of the wider Higher Education Liaison Officers Association (HELOA).
Helena joined the University of Aberdeen in 2010 as an Assistant College Registrar at the College of Life Sciences & Medicine. Helena subsequently worked as a Business Improvement Specialist for over four years, facilitating change projects across the University, including working closely with the Project Team introducing a new student record system and admission system.
Prior to moving to Scotland, Helena worked at the University of Toronto and with the Government of Canada. She also spent five years in the Canadian Armed Forces in the Regular Officer Training Programme (ROTP).
Helena graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada in 1992 with a First-Class BA (Hons) in History and has a Postgraduate Master’s in International History & Politics from the Institut Universitaire de Hautes Études Internationales at the University of Geneva in 1996.
